Where Am I?

You are on Eugene Kravtsov’s personal site. Who am I and where from you can find out from the personal file. Also, you can get in touch with me or leave your “Fie!” in the complaints book.

What about?

Main topics on this site are design in its many senses, sport, both from the spectator’s view and from the participant’s standpoint, politics, society, travel, photography and so on — whatever strikes my fancy.

One of my main interests in life is music. To that I dedicated separate project, theUg’s jam. Also, I try to maintain my library.

How?

What’s going on behind the stage, how and why everything works here, you may find out in the boiler room.

Comrade Who?

As a homage to the recent past of the country I was born into, I throw in a phrase or two once in a while, referencing that past:

  • “Sense, honour, and consciense of our era”, as per tagline of this blog, was referred to Lenin in Communist propaganda, as to historical figure of epic significance, such as myself. Akin to another popular amongst people phrase — “[name goes here]: the man and the steamer” (as someone important enough to name a vessel after).
  • “Beware, embezzler of the socialistic property!” as per the copyright notice in the footer — phrase was taken from the popular Soviet 60’s comedy, when one thief, posing as a citizen policeman, “apprehended the suspect”, his accomplice, with the ostentatiously vigourous exclamation “Got you, embezzler of the socialistic property!”.
  • “And in place of heart” as per “powered by” notice in the footer — words taken from the propagandist song of the Soviet 30’s, “Avia-march”, glorifying the aviation: “The Reason gave us the steel arms-wings, and in place of heart — a flaming motor”.
